This is the Wandering Wino second edition of wines that blow up your skirt. As I stated in last years post, I am not a cross dresser, but this is a simply American phrase used to say these are wines I really like and stood out to me. These are wines that are mostly available without the need for a blood hound.

“Saying the word “Superbowl” instantly gives thoughts, feelings and images to many of us. I view the Super Bowl as a special holiday that includes: friends, family, food, alcohol, commercials, and maybe even acid reflux. Maybe it would be better said if I just used the word “party.”

 

Whenever there are parties that involve feeding large groups of people, I often begin to think about the “how.” I look for ways to provide tasty foods that are easy preparation, wines that pair, and if possible not to break the bank.

93 Points from Wine Spectator for the 2010 Syrah Terra Bella Vineyard

I am really happy to report that Wine Spectator just awarded our 2010 Syrah Terra Bella Vineyard 93 Points in their January 9, 2013 Insider Newsletter.  Here is what James Laube had to say, “Pure rich and layered, with dark, vivid, snappy, wild berry, spice and pepper notes.  Smoothes out on the finish, ending long and lingering. ”  This is exciting news indeed…Did you know that our past 3 vintages have all garnered nothing but 91+ point scores…5 of them in all. We are quite proud of this wine!  Hope you get to try some before it is all gone.

2010 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard Review from sólosyrah

We really enjoyed reading the thoughtful post from sólosyrah, on our 2010 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard… From the post: “There’s a dry earth aroma along with some floral, plum, and hints of bacon. Bright strawberry and some brininess also come through on the nose for me. The palate is full but light on its feet with a great little punch of acidity on the finish. Those bright red fruit flavors carry through to the finish, and there’s also a bit of oak but it’s pretty integrated.
