Thanks to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk.com for this informative article on the last days of harvest:
“A pervasive trend is the care growers put in to get good fruit. Night harvesting is a big deal because they are picked when they are nice and cold and have maximum acidity,” meaning more reliable alcohol levels, Murray said. “If you are picking them in the heat of the day, the vines are tired, the sugars are rising, acids are falling and it’s tough to cool down for pre-fermentation. It makes all the difference.” Read the rest of the article about the night harvest in Santa Ynez Valley vineyards…
Jon Thorsen of The Reverse Wine Snob reviewed our 2007 and 2008 Syrah Tous les Jours last week. The 2007 earned a ‘Buy’ ranking, and the 2008 earned a ‘Bulk Buy’ ranking, as well as the #1 position on September’s Top Ten List!
Take a look at Steve McIntosh’s review of three of our single-vineyard Syrahs – plucky, spirited writing as always! On the Syrah Terra Bella Vineyard, “As close to a 5 star wine as we’ve ever reviewed.” Click here to read the complete review on winethropology.com
Here’s an excerpt:
“A kitchen sink blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, it’s a spice box extravaganza that commands attention. Though splashing a spectrum of flavors across the palate like a brightly lit magenta-to-indigo rainbow, first impressions are freshness, focus, and balance. Surprisingly lively for a 5 year old wine. Clearly well made – and dangerously accessible. Deal.” Read the whole review here.

‘Excellent – 91 points’ for our 2008 Syrah Tous les Jour from Marc Hinton of enobytes.com.
” The taste as it spreads softly across the palate generates flavors more commonly found in wines costing three times as much. The long lush pleasing finish cleanses and as you take another bite, the wine beckons you back to repeat the experience. Serve this with almost any hearty pasta, pizza, roasted or grilled meat or for this price a perfectly cooked bacon cheeseburger! This certainly fits the bill for an everyday drinking wine. I wish all my days included a bottle of this.”
